This shape is designed to be an efficient and user-friendly complement to your standard high-performance shortboard specifically for better waves. The diamond nose keeps the rail line slightly straighter in the front part of the board, putting slightly more rail in the face of the wave on steep take-offs and providing a little more stability through turns. The bottom shape consists of a single concave entry to double concave under the front foot, to an accelerating single concave in the tail with steps aligned with the fins and a hip in the outline. The steps help the board to break its line of direction and/or square up off the bottom at really high speeds with control. The angled surface that trails each step breaks the width of the single concave under your back foot and makes it a narrower plane. This gives you the benefits of a single concave under your back foot while allowing the board to change its direction and roll to the rail under your back foot more easily compared to if the single concave went out to the rail. It is available in a thruster or quad fin set up with a square tail or swallowtail. I recommend the square tail for slightly flatter waves and more release-oriented surfing, and the swallowtail for curvy waves and more accurate, driveway surfing.
